The 3rd Annual Noosa Surf Film Festival, supported by Vissla.

Noosa Heads (19 September 2017) - The program for the 3rd annual Noosa Surf Film Festival has been revealed and it�s packed with a selection of remarkable films including big screen premieres from local legends and films showcased from as far as Switzerland, USA & France.

Taking place from 5-8th October and with home base at [The J in Noosa Junction](http://www.thej.com.au/), the festival is the ultimate celebration of surf culture with last year�s event selling out all screenings and attracting surfers and ocean lovers from across the east coast.

This year�s locally run, independent event is back bigger and better than ever with total of 24 films from 12 countries to be shown across the festival. The 2017 schedule has expanded to include an art show, photography workshops, an eco-surf panel discussion and exhibition, and 72-hour photography challenge.

�The Noosa Surf Film Festival is a high-five to all the creatives involved in the surf industry. There is an immense amount of talent both in and out of the water, and we want to bring everyone together to celebrate it.� says Festival Director Amelia Shaw.

**2017 Event Bios & Feature Films**

**Art Show (Thu 5 Oct)**

Opening night show featuring unique art pieces for sale from Ozzie Wright, Elena Grib, Matthew Allen, Pia Opfermann, Luka Raubenheimer, Kristian Gail, Lachlan Olive and Jaleesa Vincent.

**Photography Workshops presented by Canon (Fri 6 & Sat 7 Oct)**

Join professional Australian Surf Photographer Fran Miller for a sunrise surf photography session in the perfect light to catch the morning sliders. Bookings essential � limited tickets available.

**�Proximity� (Fri 6 Oct � Screening 1)**

Presented by Taylor Steele, Proximity follows eight of the world�s best surfers � four legends and four rising stars as they search for new waves and a deeper understanding in exotic locations.

**Eco Surf Panel Discussion & Exhibition (Sat 7 Oct)**

Chat to the best in the business including household name Tom Wegner about sustainability in the surf industry. Be inspired by the evolution of the surfboard and learn how we can do our part to reduce our impact in and out of the water.

**Soul Sisters Screening (Sat 7 Oct � Screening 2)**

We love women�s surfing so much we gave it its own screening. Features the Australian Premiere of �Blue Road� a film about 3 women who love to draw lines.

**�The Church of the Open Sky� (Sat 7 Oct � Screening 3)**

The latest feature length release from award winning independent Australian Filmmaker Nathan Oldfield which explores gratefully lived surfing journeys shot in location in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka.

**�Well as Well� � PREMIERE (Sat 7 Oct � Screening 4)**

A film by born & bred local Luka Raubenheimer. 1 month in Sri Lanka with 1 surfer ruled by reptilians and late-night mambos.

**72 Hour Photography Challenge (Sun 8 Oct)**

We�ve hand-picked 6 local photographers to take on the challenge of capturing the best surf shots they can in Noosa over 72 hrs. While we are enjoying the festival they will be busy capturing surfers in their natural habitat and editing into a 5 minute slideshow to be shown at Village Bicycle and a winner crowned!

Live music, food stalls and guaranteed good times provided at all film screening sessions!
